As Avaya GM Mohammad Nezarati recently wrote on Esna’s blog, the enterprise world is, without question, transitioning to “the operating system of the future”—a.k.a. the browser. The advent of browser-based technologies like WebRTC is aggressively transforming the state of the enterprise collaboration market. Esna’s hope is to sufficiently meet this heightened user demand for intuitive, truly interoperable browser-based technologies with its collection of embedded unified communications and collaboration products—like Esna iLink for Avaya Scopia Desktop.
Our goal at Esna is simple: Create products that disrupt, transform and enhance the state of enterprise communications and collaboration today.
Today we release our newest version of Esna iLink for Cisco™ Jabber, featuring an improved user experience and updated user interface (UI) that makes it easier than ever for people to communicate and collaborate.
We’re excited to share news of a new partnership between Jabra and Esna. Jabra is a leading manufacturer of intelligent headset and speakerphone solutions, and we’ve just announced that Esna iLink for Cisco™ Jabber now enables full call control directly from Jabra headsets. This integration, using a newly released WebSocket interface within the headset software, lets us revolutionize how people use a traditional desktop softphone.
By connecting Cisco Jabber with the Jabra headset, customers will get the benefits of both a traditional phone and a softphone. They can answer and end calls, dial using a keypad, mute or change volume, and have a call ring through their phone rather than through the computer, all without having to navigate a softphone application.
The beginning of a new year reinvigorates businesses to push boundaries further, identify more exciting growth opportunities and build bigger and better strategies for providing the utmost client value. Esna decided to kick off 2015 by delivering an entirely new user experience for a few of our real time collaboration solutions.
A busy Hollywood lawyer on business in New York needs to talk immediately with his California client, and face-to-face contact would be ideal to go over the pending copyright lawsuit. But his return trip is not for several days. As a result, the two turn to video conferencing—and the best part is they can do so without having to maneuver through separate applications.
Such a seamless process, devoid of any hassles, is possible when companies cast an eye toward the new Esna iLink for Avaya Scopia Desktop solution. We recently revealed this new solution to make it simple—with only a few clicks—to schedule Scopia video conference meetings from inside, say, Google Apps or Salesforce with just the touch of a button.
At Esna, we believe that every worker should boast the ability to communicate and collaborate with speed, precision and ease. To help our customers better do so, we joined forces with one of the industry’s biggest providers of unified business communications and networking services, Avaya, to help enhance our leading cloud-enabled communication and collaboration solutions. Our flagship collaboration application, Esna iLink Pro 9.1 with Officelinx, as well as Esna iLink have both been granted Avaya compliancy, meaning existing users of Esna’s products and solutions can now work using more Avaya IP solutions.
iLink Pro 9.1 with Officelinx is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Agile Communication Environment 6.2 FP 2, Avaya Aura Communication Manager 6.3/Avaya Communication Server 1000 7.6 and Avaya Aura Messaging 6.2. Meanwhile, Esna iLink 9.1 is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya Scopia Desktop 8.3.
“Esna continues to innovate and extend its solutions to deliver capabilities that help people get more work done through better communication and collaboration,” commented our very own VP of marketing, Lee Ho in a statement. He added that Esna is a brand committed to delivering Avaya-compliant solutions that allow business customers to get even more value from their Avaya infrastructure.
With Esna’s Officelinx unified communications (UC) platform, users can integrate Avaya voice and mobile networks to cloud-based solutions via a Web-based framework. Additionally, native integration of Avaya UC solutions with cloud-based applications, such as Google Apps, is available with Officelinx Cloudlink Edition.
At Esna, we take pride in being able to empower customers with the ability to communicate and collaborate anytime, anywhere. And our solutions don’t just stop at our now Avaya-compliant solutions, either. iLink for Cisco extends your browser capabilities; iLink for WebEx allows you to schedule and start meetings without leaving the app you’re working in, and iLink for Jive is your one-stop hub for real-time communications and collaboration.

Cisco kicked off its 2014 Live IT summit by revealing a concoction of goodies luscious enough to satisfy any collaborative leader’s sweet tooth. Among the products unveiled were a host of new desktop products intended to make workplace videoconferencing more personal via its Android mobile line. The company, touting the power of cloud computing, ensures that all of its new products are strictly rooted in its cloud-based, real-time conferencing service WebEx.
The highlights of these new Android-based offerings include the DX70 and DX80 desktop collaboration devices.Touted as sleek, all-in-one desktops, these new Android-based products support HD video and audio as well as Web conferencing and browsing. These devices are aimed at heightening the state of integrated business applications, which is exciting news considering the rapid growth of communication-enabled business process (CEBP). Furthermore, the latter, higher-end device boasts a 23-inch screen and also features Intelligent Audio, aimed at reducing background noise so that it is essentially non-existent.
It’s no secret that winter has been particularly unkind this year. The weather forecast in many areas nationwide seems to be “colder, with a chance of spring.” In fact, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s National Climatic Data Center revealed that the 2013-2014 winter season is among the coldest on record for the Midwest, putting cities such as Green Bay, WI, Detroit, and Rockford, IL, in a deep freeze.
Modern day businesses aren’t all working within the same building; in fact, some are lucky if they’re working within the same time zone. From smaller startups to behemoth brands like Netflix, IBM, HP and more, today’s working culture is measured by how great an employee’s work is—not by how many hours are logged. This environment of freedom and responsibility is becoming the standard for many of today’s top performing businesses, and that’s where a collaboration strategy comes into the picture.
The only problem is, the majority of executives don’t know how to take the next step. According to a study by Blue Consulting Group, although 90 percent of top execs said their organization has room to “significantly improve” communication and collaboration, 60 percent have no clear strategy in place for doing so.
In part one of this series, we discussed iLink for Cisco and iLink for WebEx—two of four offerings within Esna’s suite of iLink products. Now, we take a closer look at the last two solutions: iLink Pro and iLink for Jive.
With Esna iLink Pro, you can access voice, IM, presence, click-to-call, location sharing and other communication tools from right inside the cloud applications you use on a daily basis (like Google Apps and Salesforce.com). iLink Pro brings everything to you, fitting into the applications you regularly use so that you don’t have to interrupt your work flow. With iLink Pro, users can:
- Extend presence management across Web pages: Enjoy a comprehensive outlook of where employees are and when they last checked in.
- Access dynamic instant messaging: Initiate an IM session with anyone worldwide with just the click of a button.
- Make voice calls and listen to voicemail in Chrome: You’ll never have to exit out of an app to listen to that important voicemail or to make that last minute call.
- Manage timeline and activity on the fly: Things happen; when they do, you can ensure that you’re one step ahead by working within your native application environment.
- Communicate and collaborate across different Web pages: Whether it’s meeting a tight deadline, getting a contract signed or polishing up an urgent proposal; iLink Pro enables you to do it faster and more efficiently.
Collaboration technology is the future of the cutting-edge, 21st century enterprise. In fact, in a study commissioned by Blue Consulting Group, 90 percent of top executives said that their organization has potential to “significantly improve knowledge and information sharing,” including communication and collaboration.
These executives might be aware of the fact that they need to improve workplace collaboration; however, that doesn’t necessarily mean they know how to. The study further revealed that 60 percent of these execs lack a clear or formal strategy for enhancing communication and collaboration.
Anytime, Anywhere Collaboration
iLink for Cisco is a Google Chrome extension that makes collaboration easier, faster and more productive. Access voice, video, presence, instant messaging (IM), voice messaging and geo-location mapping from any Chrome browser.
WebRTC—Watch This Space…
Everybody is talking about the exciting possibilities of WebRTC these days. And I completely agree with them—WebRTC has huge potential to change how the enterprise communicates and collaborates.
