Last year was certainly notable for Esna, as it represented 25 years of successful business for the company. This year, however, has been one of the organization’s most impactful as a result of being successfully acquired by Avaya. Former CEO at Esna Mohammad Nezarati, now General Manager and Vice President of UC Applications at Avaya, recently sat down to reflect on how this acquisition will bring continued growth and innovation for the two companies—and the benefits that customers will enjoy as a result.
“Successfully completing this transition from a standalone mid-sized organization to a much larger company has undoubtedly been the biggest news for Esna this year,” said Nezarati. It’s also big news for customers, who will ultimately benefit most from this transition. Nezarati identified a few key ways that end-users stand to significantly gain from this move:
New innovative solutions: At its core, Esna’s services are add-ons to existing products offered by original equipment manufacturers such as Avaya, Cisco and Mitel. While Esna’s product line of unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) browser add-ons is certainly advantageous—enabling companies to seamlessly embed UC&C capabilities to their cloud-based collaboration applications in order to work more effectively—this acquisition expands the scope of Esna’s capabilities, supported by Avaya’s backbone. As part of Avaya’s core solution, Esna will be able to widen its doors of opportunity. As a result, end users will see stronger and more targeted products as a result of new innovation and collaboration.
Awesome user experiences: This acquisition, according to Nezarati, means that Esna has the ability to now shape the direction that its products will go in alignment with Avaya. “In my new role at Avaya, I have the ability to start shaping the direction of the research and development of Esna’s product to ensure it works better with various applications,” Nezarati said. This will ensure customers are using the best collaboration technology on the market today (delivering a richer UX) in partnership with companies that are heavily influencing and driving the market as a whole.
